The Blue Hat Ceilidh Band plus special guest Bill Elliott
The Blue Hat Ceilidh Band (Robin Dunn, Rachael Hales, Richard Adamson and Phil Tyler) are a highly experienced group of dance musicians from the North East of England. Having played together in various line-ups for over 30 years, the band’s rich mix of musical influences gives their music a fresh, vibrant edge. They play an eclectic mixture of tunes from Northumberland, Scotland, Canada, New England and Scandinavia as well as their own compositions.
Join us for a family-friendly afternoon of ceilidh dancing. No previous experience is needed – all dances will be clearly explained by callers Robin and Rachael, who keep things relaxed, inclusive and full of fun. Expect an afternoon of dancing, laughter and music that’s guaranteed to get your feet tapping.
Featuring special guest Bill Elliott. Bill Elliott is a renowned folk singer from Washington and a proud member of the famous “Elliotts of Birtley.” With deep roots in the region’s mining heritage, Bill brings authentic North East songs and stories to life, celebrating the traditions and voices of the coalfield communities. His performances are rich in history, warmth, and the spirit of the North East.
