Event description
Explore the creative possibilities of modern photography using the camera you carry in your pocket every day. Join photographer Lindsay Duncanson for a dynamic, hands‑on workshop that introduces you to the art of studio‑based image‑making—no specialist equipment required.
In this session, you’ll learn how to use your mobile phone to capture striking macro shots, expressive portraits, and beautifully lit compositions. Lindsay will guide you through key techniques for maximising your phone’s photographic potential, from mastering manual settings and adjusting focal lengths to experimenting with filters, angles, and composition.
You’ll also discover how lighting transforms an image. Using studio lights, softboxes, reflectors, and simple DIY tools, you’ll play with shadows, highlights, colour, and mood to understand how professionals shape the look and feel of a photograph. Whether you’re looking to level up your social media images, expand your creative practice, or begin building a photography portfolio, this workshop offers a friendly and inspiring introduction to contemporary studio work.
By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a set of evocative images—macro, portrait, or abstract—and the confidence to continue exploring digital photography in your everyday life.
Come experiment, get creative, and reimagine what’s possible with the camera already in your hand.
This workshop has sold out.
