Event description

I Got a Feeling is Washington Theatre Group’s Summer Show!

Love, laughter, and a little bit of the unexpected… I Got a Feeling is made up of four original short plays, each exploring the theme of love and romance in its many forms. Written by members of Washington Theatre Group, this new production brings together humour, heart, and a touch of surprise.

Speed Dating – written and directed by Barry Hogan
A series of blind dates awaits our reluctant Romeo, Tom. Each time the bell rings, a new potential partner takes a seat across the table. Awkward encounters, surprising connections, and plenty of laughs ensue—but will Tom find what he’s looking for?

Can You See What I’m Saying? – written by Barry Hogan / directed by Marie Lovell
Brad and Janet meet for the first time in a restaurant—but what’s really going on beneath the surface? Ever wondered what people are actually thinking? This witty piece lifts the lid on inner thoughts, revealing that sometimes it’s better not to know…

Stuck – written by Simon Smith / directed by Christine Jary
Sam and Jenny are complete strangers—until they find themselves trapped together in a lift. In close quarters with nowhere to escape, will they keep calm… or will tensions rise? And how long can two strangers really stay strangers?

50p Prophet – written by Simon Smith / directed by Lois May Whitfield
Life is full of ups and downs, but help can come from the most unexpected places. When Len arrives at Marion’s café, he offers guidance in a rather unusual way. Warm, quirky and uplifting, this charming story reminds us that everyone needs a little direction now and then.

A lively showcase of new writing and local talent, I Got a Feeling is full of humour, honesty, and heartfelt storytelling.
