Event description

Join us over the summer holidays for three free day-long workshops with artist and Bright Lights Young Artists Collective leader Katie Watson.

Develop your practice, try out a variety of art forms and meet like-minded young people in a friendly and supportive space.

The workshops will include:

Printmaking: Inspired by the natural world, we’ll experiment with processes such as cyanotype, gelli printing and stencil spray painting. We will explore layering coloured forms, texture and shape to create bold, unique prints.

Portraits: Through investigating a number of different linear mark making styles, we will explore ways of creating dynamic, graphic and gestural portraits. We will try out new methods of drawing faces—focusing on showing movement, character and expression.

Textiles collage: Using layers of cut-out fabrics, we will build up a detailed study of an object, scene, or something from your imagination. This workshop is all about exploring form, composition and storytelling through textiles.
