Creative You is a project for young people ages 11-19 and therefore places will be allocated on this basis.
Event description
Join us over the summer holidays for three free day-long workshops with artist and Bright Lights Young Artists Collective leader Katie Watson.
Develop your practice, try out a variety of art forms and meet like-minded young people in a friendly and supportive space.
The workshops will include:
Printmaking: We will experiment with various printmaking techniques such as: cyanotype, ‘spray painting’ using natural stencils and inks, gelli printing…
Portraits: Through investigating a number of different linear markmaking styles, we will explore ways of creating dynamic, graphic and gestural portraits.
Textiles collage: Using cut-out fabrics, we will build up a detailed study of an object, scene, etc. The fabric pieces will be either sewn or glued to form a layered composition on canvas.
