When Serge buys a modern painting—entirely white—for an eye-watering sum, his friends Marc and Yvan are stunned. What begins as a polite disagreement soon unravels into a hilarious and poignant examination of taste, loyalty, and the meaning of friendship.

This sharp, witty comedy explores how something as simple as a piece of art can shake the foundations of a long-standing relationship. Performed with heart and humour by Hallmarsh amateur dramatics company, Art is a timeless reminder that sometimes, it’s not about the painting—it’s about what lies beneath.

It won Olivier and Evening standard award for best comedy when it opened in London 1996.
