Event description
Sunderland Film Club presents The Weird and the Eerie – a one-day film festival celebrating the most dread-inducing modern horror.
Join us at Sunderland Minster this November for a screening of Jane Schoenbrun’s internet-inflected oddity – We’re All Going to the World’s Fair.
Late one night, alone in her bedroom, teenager Casey stares into her webcam and repeats “I want to go to the world’s fair” while pricking her finger until it bleeds. She is entering an online role-playing horror game, and soon feels the challenge is impacting her physically in real life. As she begins to lose herself between dream and reality, a mysterious figure reaches out, claiming to see something special in her uploads.
