Future Arts Centres

Arts Centre Washington is a member of Future Arts Centres – an active network of over 170 venues in the UK, committed to championing the unique importance of arts centres at a local and regional level.

In 2023, FAC became a not-for-profit company and is supported by Arts Council England to provide sector aid for arts centres and their leaders. Through our membership, we are able to help shape and influence the network’s activity and learning. We have access to a shared experience and expertise working towards our common goal of providing outstanding creative experiences for our communities and beyond.

Our Freedom: Then & Now

Our Freedom: Then & Now is a UK-wide, locally-led arts and creative programme reflecting what ‘Our Freedom’ means to local people and their communities, following the 80th anniversary of VE/VJ Day.

Future Arts Centres lead the programme, working with 60 arts centres and libraries, their communities and artists to create special cultural events, exhibitions and performances that are meaningful to people living in these places and across the UK.
