Community Partnership in Action

Published on

We were delighted to receive a special delivery from young people working with Durham Youth Justice as part of their reparation programme.

One young person, who was involved in the Sunderland riots, chose to give something back by building and painting three beautiful wooden planters in the Youth Justice workshop, as well as creating snuffle mats to donate to Mowbray Park Community Garden. Another young person from the service then helped to plant up the planters and deliver them to Jennie Morris, Community Garden Engagement Lead at Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens.

We’re so grateful for their effort and creativity – the planters have added a lovely splash of colour to our space, and it’s inspiring to see young people channel their energy into something positive and meaningful. We’re proud to support them as they continue to make positive changes in their lives, and we wish them every success for the future.

A huge thank you to Durham Youth Justice for their partnership, and to the young people for their thoughtful contribution.
