Event description

Join us for our Relaxed session, designed especially for deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent young people (aged 16-35) who live, study or work in Sunderland and their carers. These sessions provide a calm and supportive environment to explore the Museum at a quieter time with access to a breakout space.

Whether you want to enjoy the galleries, learn about your local history, or simply spend time in a peaceful space, this is your opportunity to experience the museum at your own pace.

What to Expect

  • Quieter spaces with reduced noise and fewer visitors.
  • Friendly staff available to offer assistance and answer questions.
  • Freedom to explore without the usual crowds.
  • Accessible facilities, including lift, seating areas, and breakout space


Booking and Cost

Entry is free, but we are limiting bookings to 20 people per slot to help us create the best experience for everyone.

 

Additional Information

  • Carers are welcome and encouraged to attend.
  • Pre-visit information, venue walkthroughs and social stories are available.
  • Winter Gardens will not be open during this time due to lack of lighting.
